Korea is an exotic East Asian country. It was a united country till 1948, though it was not independent. The seeds of division were, however, sown after the end of Second World War. Coming back to the present, we now have two countries, North Korea and South Korea. There are many obviously similar aspects in the culture of the two; the differences are in the political conditions of both the countries.

The following is a list of famed Koreans who have made an impact on the world. The list contains both North and South Koreans.
